Glenn Maxwell's transformation led by coach Darren Lehmann

04:55

The Australian All-rounder had caught every ones sight with his extraordinary batting performance in this IPL-7. He is also a leading run scorer in this ongoing series.

Maxwell, struggled to hold a firm place in the national team after criticizing publicly of his stroke play and repetitive failures by coach Darren Lehmann a former Australian cricketer, coach
earlier this year.

“Maxwell has to finish those games off for us,” said Lehmann. “He is a batting all-rounder but has to show the responsibility to bat at No.6. We know he has the flair and excitement, and love that about him, but we want him to understand the game better.” he added.

Maxwell, 25 had been subject to criticism by the Indian media last year when he failed to justify his value of $1 million in the IPL after being chosen by the Mumbai Indians. The Victorian born was described as a “million dollar waste”.

When asked if he expected another million dollar cheque by any franchise for IPL 2014, Maxwell jokingly said, “Not this year,”

Kings XI Punjab, owned by Priety Zinta, Ness Wadia and other members showed faith in Maxwell by announcing him as a permanent installation in the team. Innovative and fearless Maxwell has been awarded 'Man of the Match' for majority of the matches that he has played for KXIP in this season.

Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that Lehmann's words led to a beautiful transformation of Maxwell, which is currently being witnessed in the form of his massive and confident hitting in the IPL tournament.
